Hunt Tops Yellow Jackets in Season Opener 33-9
The Hunt High School Warriors scored 26 unanswered points to start the game and held off Lee County for a 33-9 non-conference win Saturday night at Paul Gay Stadium in Sanford. The Warriors scored on their opening drive on a 3 and 15 play with a 67-yard run by Quarterback Mez Harris to start the scoring for Hunt.
Zavier Dublin would add two more scores before the break and Hunt took a 20-0 lead into the half. Dublin would add a 3rd score early in the 3rd to put Hunt up 26-0, just before Lee County would find some momentum and score twice – once on a 15-yard pass from Reed Douglas to Javonte Randall followed by a safety when Alex Dell caught Dublin in the end zone. Harris would add a late score for Hunt for the final margin.
The Yellow Jackets had two scoring opportunities with 1st and goal – once in each half – and came up empty both times.
